WASTING MY TIME

“For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.”
(John 1:16)

It is that time of the year again, a time where the human construction of what we know as time restarts a new cycle. All the numbers of the calendar go back to its initial counting. What we counted in the past year begins again. Science teaches us that the Earth revolves around the Sun in elliptical orbit which is responsible for the climatic effects we call seasons. Time then, it’s a human method of measuring the physical phenomena or our planet which has become a vital structure of how we live, how we sleep, how we get together, how we plan ahead, how we perceive life and maybe almost everything we do!. Ironically, time has not been proven to exist. Albert Einstein himself in his Theory of Relativity demolished the idea of time as a universal constant. According to an article published by Discovery Magazine: “The possibility that time may not exist is known among physicists as the “problem of time.” It may be the biggest, but it is far from the only temporal conundrum. Vying for second place is this strange fact: The laws of physics don’t explain why time always points to the future.” I am not a cosmologist, astrophysicist, or scientist to explain in detail the scientific framework that led to this conclusion but, this mystery of our universe should strike the foundation of our faith.

G-d is the agent of this universe. He is the creator of what is, was and ought to be. He is not bound to time. He is. He always was and He will always be. Before everything was, there was He, and He knew everything which is. In the mind of G-d there was you and me. He created purpose and designed everything we are for Him and through Him. In Him are the blueprints, the map of our inner being and all that makes us. This beautiful Creator is Jesus Christ for in Him all the fullness of G-d was pleased to dwell, and through Him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross. (Colossians 1:19). Only by believing that it is His blood in the cross that can gives us purpose and meaning that we can be reconciled with Him.

The year 2011 then is about to finish and we instantly begin to make plans to improve aspects of our lives that are subjected to time. Some of us set ourselves to save money, lose weight, excel in our activities, travel the world and change personality traits. Although, this is indeed important, it does not by any means get any close to the importance of submitting our lives to Jesus. He is all we need. Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith abounding in thanksgiving. See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, that things and goals are more important which are according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ. For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, and you have been filled in him, who is the head of all rule and authority. (Colossians 2:6-10) Therefore, friends let us begin this “year” with the goal and effort to love G-d, to seek him and feel satisfied in Him. Our dependence in him will bring the real joy and strength that is everlasting. For whoever believed in Him shall not perish but have eternal live (John 3:16) Let us not waste our time in things that perish but rejoice and delight in Him for He has poured his Grace into us without merit!

Happy 2012!

Purpose

Hello!

Whoever you are, the one behind the computer screen reading this blog, I welcome you to my "thought castle". Here I will share all my experiences, my thoughts, my goals, my struggles, my ideas, my success, my failures, my concerns and my philosophy. Let me say that you are more than welcome to share your opinions on anything I say and dialogue in our differences. The real purpose of this blog, more than to share my experiences with the world, is an experiment with myself, by that I mean to document all my thoughts and the patterns that I encounter in my reactions. Also, I am a goal oriented person. I have struggled with many goals I have not been able to achieve yet. Therefore, with the effort of making them a reality for me, I want you to show you how I have done them.

Before saying goodbye, and perhaps start with my first topic of the year, I want you to know who I am. My name is Juan Correa. I live in Canada, but I was born in Colombia. I am a very introspective, analytical person but who loves being outgoing and friendly with the outside world. I am in my fourth year of University, almost graduating from Theological Studies and Geography and dreaming of becoming a public figure who can transform the world with my ideas and inspiring life. I have called this blog "Metaphysos" because I love the greek compound word : Meta= Beyond, and Physos= Physical (which I kind of changed a bit to fit a cool name) and because the issues I will be discussing here will be beyond our physical limits, and very critical.

God Bless You,

Metaphysio.
